im half mexican half black, but more of mexican descent i only look as if i was 25% black i dnt have kinky hair i have hair like 100% mexican poeple. ive always been considered mexican, and dnt know any thing about my black side of the family just that my dad went with a black lady. anyways i was just wondering why do you guys call mixed people black? multiracial is a more correct term. some mixed people dont want to be labled as one whole race but you guys do it anyway, i dont want to hear anything about one drop rule i dnt care about it, it was just made up, and im tired of people putting 50% of a person and putting it higher than another 50% why cant it be equl, i dont give a damn if the governer say "if you have any black blood then your black" no i dont consider myself black or mexican i call my self mixed or multiracial, and please dont leave a stupid remark, un less you are mixed.

I think the reason is because "black" is more of a blanket term. Since most black people have mixed blood, it's just more convenient to consider one's self black with the understanding that there is another mix. Also, usually when any other race that is not black sees a mixed person, they just consider them as black.

Its called the one drop rule. Meaning if you have on drop of black blood in you then you're automatically considered black. It stems from slavery when even if a child was born to a black mother and white father they'll still be considered black even though they're biracial.

Well,i don't do that but let me help:-) there are 2 main colors in the world.ppl normally generalize you as black/white.usually if there is a ounce of black in a person it it's more outstanding,whether it is shown through the texture/color of your hair or you mere skin color.then again you have persons who are prejudice and if those persons dislike a certain color they will most often place you in that category.hope this helps:-)

basically, if you're not 100% white, no one cares what the F you are so they just say "black" if your skin in dark, or "chinese" if you have narrow eyes and yellow skin or "latino" if you don't look like either of the two mentioned previously.
