Every where on answers it's "illegal mexican".Why?Why not illegal Honduranian or illegal Guatamalan Or illegal dominican republican?Does their latino skin color automatically label them as mexican?Isn't that a bit presumptuous?

What about those dark skinned Honduranians that look black or the Dominicans with dark skin?You'd see them on the street and never classify them.Because they don't fit the typical "mexican"look?Did you know there are white skinned mexicans also?Blonde hair and blue eyes.They could all be illegal,but they wouldn't be accused and put down soley by the way they look.But let a brown skinned woman with black hair stand in the food stamp line and there'd people go,calling her another government cheating illegal mexican.Or worse,a *******,which is what they are called where I live.It wouldn't matter if she was born here ,along with the last 5 generations of her family.She could have more american roots than you or I,but no one would care,cause she lokks mexican.Sad.

I wonder the same thing every day, and its sad. My husband is Mexican and is a greencard holder. The stigma still stands, most people are ignorant. If somebody speaks spanish they are an illegal mexican here to steal jobs and welfare.

But have you ever heard the word stereo typing that goes for anyone that have a tan naturally.

You can check it out yourself if you could find say an Indian from India, that had a very light skin tone then you would find that they will never tell you that they are Indian because, that is their passport to indirection.

On the other hand a dark skinned Indian can be identified immediately from a distance.

Just like so called African Americans with very light skin, straight hair, blue eyes, straight nose and an American accent.

Of course it shouldn't mean that you are an illegal but because you have dark skin, it is assumed that you are in the USA illegally.

I guess because they come across the border illegally from Mexico. They dont have to be from Mexico, but they are coming in that way. I would say the majority are brown skinned and dont speak english...but that doesnt mean all are brown skinned.

I havent seen any white skinned illegals coming in from Mexico in my neck of the woods, but that doesnt mean they are not here...

I'm not sure that it does? I've certainly never insinuated that. I am not racial in my disagreement of illegal immigration, I feel anyone from anywhere that is illegal should be deported. It is a legal issue, not a racial one.

The problem and reason people are so down on Mexican illegals is because of their attitude.

you would be amazed at the people out there that accuse me of being an illegal alien and I am an American Indian with a mix of French ancestory. I was born here, my ancestors are from Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and North Carolina. You would be amazed at the ignorance of some people. I do say I am Hispanic, but I speak Spanish and have the exact same characteristics racially as those not born here do. My direct lineage escaped to Texas, then Mexico, during the Trail of Tears in 1838. So I am as American as Apple pie yet I still get accused of being here illegally.
