my hair was light brown and i dyed it a couple of days ago because i wanted it to be chocolate brown. The dye i bought was Clariol nice n easy the darkest brown, and the way the picture looked made my hair look like it would turn out the way i wanted. With my luck it turned out black. I want it lighter to get the chocolate brown tone, so i bought medium ash brown hair dye. Will this lighten it up a little or at all? At this point i dont care about the damage but just want it lighter. thanks in advance:)
Hair dye question? please help!?
hello darling, dont dye it again. it will not make a difference. it has only been a couple days and hair color, especially dark brown fades a lot within the first few weeks. i understand that you really want it lighter but the medium brown dye will either make no difference or make it even darker. so in the mean time while you are waiting, try to warm up your skin tone because it will make the dark hair less AHHHH!! :) if you're already tan then im sure you're fine but if you have a very fair skin tone you may want to use a fake tanner to have at least some color. also use a little blush. also, if you dont think its gross you can put a little baby powder in your hair! its a great secret to lightening the color and it also softens your hair..and it wont be noticible at all by sight, the only problem is that it has a smell, not a bad smell but a smell, and it sometimes cn take quite a bit before you see a difference, and it can be messy:) but if your desperate, this is the best way to go. if 2 weeks go by and it hasnt lightened email me and ill help you out:) hope this helps!

I might be a male, but,Im pretty certain you CANT dye your hair lighter!...and I dont think its a good idea to use a lightener straight after dying it...
Hair dye question? please help!?
If you have patience, it will lighten with each shampoo. All browns , no matter what brand, tend to color darker than described on the box. You should have chosen a med. brown and it would have been closer to the shade you wanted. I would not apply more hair coloring at this point.
